The essay, "Pederasty: An Integration of Cross-Cultural, Cross-Species, and Empirical Data" by Temple University Professor Bruce Rind, Ph.D., praised pedophilia in ancient Greece and Rome as serving a mentoring function for boys.
According to Rind, "... pederasty was seen as the noblest of human relations, conducive if not essential to nurturing the adolescent's successful intellectual and physical maturation."
Rind's article was first published in The Journal of Homosexuality, which is published by Haworth Press. Rind has also contributed to PAIDIKA, a Dutch pedophile journal.
Haworth issued a press release stating: "The Haworth Press, Inc., has cancelled publication of this book. ... Readers have noted ... that one chapter of the book could be interpreted as advocating adult and adolescent sexuality. We thank the public for bringing this to our attention."
Haworth is not only the publisher of the Journal of Homosexuality, but still offers Male Intergenerational Intimacy: Historical, Socio-Psychological, and Legal Perspectives for sale. This book was edited by Theo G. M. Sandfort; Edward Brongersma; and Alex X. van Naerssen. This book was first published as a special issue of the Journal of Homosexuality in 1990.
Edward Brongersma and Theo Sandfort are both listed as members of the editorial board of PAIDIKA.
The International Pedophile and Child Emancipation (IPCE) group provides child sex predators with a database of information promoting adult/child sex. Bruce Rind's work is featured prominently on this site.
